Waste Management is a major issue

Our ineffective waste management practises have a direct impact on a wide range of ecosystems and species. Landfills are the worst option for waste disposal; they are disgusting and unsanitary, and they must be phased out. The toxic gases released when they are set on fire are extremely dangerous to humans and any other species that may breathe in the fumes. They produce methane, and the buried waste pollutes the soil and, ultimately, the water table.
